Local Equities Market

For the week ending September 22, 2023, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, declined by 0.64%. The Main Market Index decreased by 0.66%, the Junior Market Index decreased by 0.52%, and the JSE USD Equities Index decreased by 0.47%. During the week, CAC 2000 Limited was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 26.70% to close at $4.46. First Rock Real Estate Investments Limited (USD) was the biggest decliner, which fell by 23.62% to close at USD 0.05.

Large-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Main Market Index are underperforming on a YTD basis, declining by 12.26%, relative to its Junior Market counterpart which has declined by 4.44%

For the week ending September 22, 2023, overall market activity resulted from trading in 122 stocks of which 43 advanced, 65 declined and 14 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 103,606,172 units valued at over $432,792,057.79. One Great Studio Company Limited was the volume leader with 52,467,843 units (50.09%), followed by Wigton Windfarm Limited Ordinary Shares with 5,726,547 units (5.47%), and by Transjamaican Highway Limited with 5,206,661 units (4.97%).
