Local Equities Market

For the week ending March 22, 2024, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, declined by 0.06%. The Main Market Index advanced by 0.04%, the Junior Market Index declined by 0.95%, and the JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.61%. During the week, Sygnus Real Estate Finance Limited (USD) was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 22.03% to close at USD 0.13. The Limnars and Bards Limited was the biggest decliner, which fell by 14.44% to close at $1.54

Large-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Main Market Index are overperforming on a YTD basis, increasing by 0.99%, relative to its Junior Market counterpart which has declined by 1.46%.

For the week ending March 22, 2024, overall Market activity resulted from trading 125 stocks of which 48 advanced, 58 declined and 19 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 134,769,641 units valued at over $397,088,682.09. Wigton Windfarm Limited was the volume leader with 34,376,838 units (25.32%), followed by One Great Studio Limited with 24,743,340 units (18.23%) and by TransJamaican Highway Limited with 18,903,444 units (13.93%).
