For the week ending September 20, 2024, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, improved by 0.21%. The Main Market Index improved by 0.09%, the Junior Market Index improved by 1.54%, and the JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.19%. During the week, CAC 2000 Limited was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 15.58% to close at $2.30. Margaritaville (Turks) Limited USD was the biggest decliner, which fell by 24.80% to close at US$0.08.
Small-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Junior Market Index are outperforming on a YTD basis, decreasing by 4.24%, relative to its Main Market counterpart which has declined by 6.14%.
For the week ending September 20, 2024, overall market activity resulted from trading in 124 stocks of which 47 advanced, 59 declined and 18 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 264,830,268 units valued at over $1,349,773,036.51. Transjamaican Highway Limited with 148,733,337 units (54.23%), followed by Radio Jamaica Limited with 34,592,783 units (12.61%), and by Wigton Windfarm Limited with 12,970,614 units (4.73%).
