Local Equities Market

For the week ending May 16, 2025, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, rising by 0.17%. The Main Market Index rising by 0.22%, the Junior Market Index declining by 0.46%, and the JSE USD Equities Index declining by 0.27%. During the week ISP Finance Services Limited was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 32.18% to close at $11.50. K.L.E. Group Limited was the biggest decliner, which fell by 20.00% to close at $0.92.

Large-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Main Market Index are outperforming on a YTD basis, declining by 3.62%, relative to its Junior Market counterpart which has declined by 7.86%.

For the week ending May 16, 2025, overall market activity resulted from 128 stocks of which 54 advanced, 63 declined and 11 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 137,986,980 units valued at over $724,342,073.98. Key contributors to trading volume are TransJamaican Highway Limited with 43,443,237 units (30.95%), followed by Wigton Energy Limited with 15,594,083 units (11.11%) and One On One Educational Services Limited with 15,212,083 units (10.84%).
