For the week ending May 22, 2025, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, declining by 1.10%. The Main Market Index declining by 1.16%, the Junior Market Index declining by 0.42%, and the JSE USD Equities Index declining by 0.65%. During the week EduFocal Limited was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 15.38% to close at $0.22. K.L.E. Group Limited was the biggest decliner, which fell by 15.22% to close at $1.06.
Large-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Main Market Index are outperforming on a YTD basis, declining by 4.73%, relative to its Junior Market counterpart which has declined by 8.25%.
For the week ending May 22, 2025, overall market activity resulted from 124 stocks of which 53 advanced, 57 declined and 14 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 91,303,310 units valued at over $455,887,611.07. Key contributors to trading volume are TransJamaican Highway Limited with 28,296,591 units (30.07%), followed by Wigton Energy Limited with 9,511,532 units (10.11%) and Edufocal Limited with 6,748,040 units (7.17%).
