Local Equities Market
For the week ending May 29, 2026, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, declinedby 0.98%. The Main Market Index declined by 1.06%, the Junior Market Index improved by 0.16%, and the JSE USD Equities Index declined by 6.90%. During the Sygnus Real Estate Finance Limited (USD) was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 17.73% to close at $0.05. Margaritaville (Turks) Limited was the biggest decliner, which fell by 26.79% to close at $9.51.
Large-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Main Market Index are outperforming on a YTD basis, improving by 7.35%, relative to its Junior Market counterpart which has declining by 8.34%.
For the week ending May 29, 2026, overall market activity resulted from 125 stocks of which 47 advanced, 64 declined and 14 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 358,310,612 units valued at over $908,496,110.56. Key contributors to trading volume are Kintyre Holdings (JA) Limited with 109,633,211 (30.26%), followed by Wigton Energy Limited with 79,291,492 units (21.89%) and JMMB Group Limited 7.35% Cumulative Redeemable Preference Share with 33,401,376 units (9.22%).
