For the week ended Friday, the Jamaica Stock Exchange indexes closed mostly lower with the JSE Combined Index declining by 0.23%, the JSE Index declined by 0.17%, the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 0.19%, the Junior Market Index declined by 0.98 %, the JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.81%, but the JSE Select Index advanced by 0.04%.

US News & Data:
US Housing Starts rose 3.8% to an annual rate of 1.314 million in units October 2019 from September 2019. Average US Housing Starts was 1.429 million units from 1959 until 2019. US Existing Homes Sales rose 1.9% to an annual rate of 5.46 million units in October 2019.
European News & Data:
Spain’s trade deficit widened to € 4.26 billion in September 2019 from €3.30 billion year-over-year. It was the largest trade gap for a September month since 2011. Germany’s GDP growth was confirmed at 0.1% in Q3 2019, compared to a 0.2% contraction in Q2 2019; however IHS Markit Germany Manufacturing PMI pointed to the eleventh straight month at 43.8 in November 2019.
G20 News & Data:
The People’s Bank of China lowered the 7-day reverse repurchase rate to 2.50% from 2.55%, the first reduction in over four years, signaling that policymakers are ready to support a slower economy. Canada’s annual inflation rate was 1.9% in October 2019, unchanged from September 2019 due to gasoline costs continuing to fall, while food prices rose. Chilean GDP advanced 3.3% year-over-year in Q3 2019, following a 1.9% expansion in Q2 2019, from growth in the mining sector, manufacturing and services sector. South Africa’s inflation fell to 3.7% in October 2019 from 4.1% in September 2019, below expectations of 3.9%. It was the lowest inflation rate since February 2011, amid a slowdown in cost of transport due to petrol prices and food & non-alcoholic beverages
