The Main Market Index declined by 0.07%, the Junior Market Index advanced by 1.89%, and the JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.72%. During the week, Caribbean Flavours & Fragrances Limited was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 20.51% to close at $1.41. Caribbean Assurance Brokers Limited was the biggest decliner, which fell by 17.14% to close at $2.32.
Large-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Main Market Index are underperforming on a YTD basis, declining by 11.30%, relative to its Junior Market counterpart which has declined by 5.75%.
For the week ending December 1, 2023, overall Market activity resulted from trading in 119 stocks of which 61 advanced, 51 declined and 7 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 133,188,136 units valued at over $653,227,010.83. Indies Pharma Jamaica Limited was the volume leader with 49,792,509 units (31.65%), followed by First Rock Real Estate Investments Limited (USD) with 19,350,000 units (12.30%), and by Wigton Windfarm Limited with 18,992,184 units (12.07%)
