Local Equities Market

For the week ending July 18, 2025, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, declined by 0.22%. The Main Market Index improved by 0.30%, the Junior Market Index declined by 0.26%, and the JSE USD Equities Index declined by 1.18%. During the week Main Event Entertainment Group was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 20.24% to close at $8.91. One Great Studio Company Limited was the biggest decliner, which fell by 11.43% to close at $0.31.

Small-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Junior Market Index are outperforming on a YTD basis, declining by 8.62%, relative to its Main Market counterpart which has declined by 9.03%.

For the week ending July 18, 2025, overall market activity resulted from 95 stocks of which 36 advanced, 36 declined and 23 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 9,958,277 units valued at over $177,600,537.68. Key contributors to trading volume are Carreras Limited with 2,107,251 units (20.56%), followed by NCB Financial Group Limited with 1,431,031 units (13.96%) and TransJamaican Highway Limited with 1,037,294 units (10.12%).
