Local Equities Market
For the week ending June 27, 2025, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, improved by 0.52%. The Main Market Index improved by 0.45%, the Junior Market Index improved by 1.36%, and the JSE USD Equities Index improved by 1.26%. During the week Consolidated Bakeries (Jamaica) Limited was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 36.52% to close at $1.57. Berger Paints Jamaica Ltd. was the biggest decliner, which fell by 13.91% to close at $6.50.
Large-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Main Market Index are outperforming on a YTD basis, declining by 6.88%, relative to its Junior Market counterpart which has declined by 8.54%.
For the week ending June 27, 2025, overall market activity resulted from 122 stocks of which 66 advanced, 43 declined and 13 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 110,060,284 units valued at over $646,738,491.01. Key contributors to trading volume are Wigton Energy Limited with 13,609,962 units (11.92%), followed by One On One Educational Services Limited with 12,447,825 units (10.90%) and Carreras Limited with 9,924,273 units (8.69%).
