For the week ending March 15, 2023, the local stock market, measured by the Combined Index, declined by 1.00%. The Main Market Index declined by 1.09%, the Junior Market Index declined by 0.17%, and the JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.60%. During the week, Sygnus Real Estate Finance Limited was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 39.20% to close at USD 0.10. Margaritaville Turks Limited USD was the biggest decliner, which fell by 16.67% to close at USD 0.10.
Large-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Main Market Index are overperforming on a YTD basis, increasing by 0.95%, relative to its Junior Market counterpart which has declined by 0.51%.
For the week ending March 8, 2024, overall Market activity resulted from trading 124 stocks of which 43 advanced, 69 declined and 12 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 153,750,662 units valued at over $902,448,750.10. Wigton Windfarm Limited was the volume leader with 36,910,616 units (23.38%), followed by Carreras Limited with 20,583,012 units (13.04%) and by TransJamaican Highway Limited with 19,169,891 units (12.14%).
