Local Equities Market

For the week ended October 28, 2022, the local stock market as measured by the Combined Index declined by 1.29%. The Main Market Index declined by 1.48%, the JSE Junior Market Index advanced by 0.40%, and the JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.41%. During the week, tTech Limited was the largest gainer, rising by approximately 21.85% to close at J$2.72. The biggest decliner was Palace Amusement Limited which fell by 13.40% to close at J$716.88.

Year to Date, with the ongoing rebound in the local economy, small-cap stocks, reflecting those listed on the Junior Market Index have continued the strong performance seen in 2021, growing by 21.05%, outpacing its Main Market counterpart which has declined 12.10%.

For the week ended October 28, 2022, overall market activity resulted from trading in 127 stocks of which 47 advanced, 65 declined and 15 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 127,311,900 units valued at over J$529.8 million. Wigton Windfarm Limited Ordinary Shares was the volume leader with 50,312,829 units (38.91%) followed by Dolla Financial Services Limited with 8,001,914 units (6.19%) and JFP Limited with 7,968,301 units (6.16%).
